La Sagrada Familia church "Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia" is by far the most popular tourist attraction in Barcelona and the only cathedral in the world still under construction. It is expected to be finished in 2025.

The church’s first stone was laid back in 1882. The church present an incredible structure, designed by the famous Barcelonan architect Antoni Gaudi. After his death in 1926 only a relatively small part of his creation was so far built. "The famous author George Orwell called la Sagrada Familia “the ugliest building on earth!” Whether you love it or hate it, it is a spectacular and audacious structure worth seeing.

The construction is and always has been entirely financed by donations and visitor admission fees.
